Train Your Brain to Crave Healthy Foods

My life changed almost 7 years ago when I was diagnosed with a rare but aggressive bone tumor.  At the time I was 37 years old and had 2 children ages 4 and 2.  This was a terrible blow to our family and a huge wake-up call for me.  I was full of pain, grief and guilt that I may not see my children grow up and achieve all their milestones in life that we look forward to as parents.

After my surgery and during my 9 months of physiotherapy, I started researching nutrition and the correlation this had on disease and illness.  I was astonished to learn there is a 100% correlation between nutrition and disease. My focus shifted toward educating myself about the prevention of disease because I never want my family to face the fear of the unknown as I once had.

Disease happens when a perfectly normal process, cell division, goes wrong.  Some major causes of this are environmental, poor food choices, smoking, stress, and prescription drugs.  The only thing that can protect our cells from mutation (a permanent change in the DNA sequence that makes up a gene) are Antioxidants.
