Straight to your plate!

You've heard the phrase: "From farm to table," right? How about this one: "Straight to your plate!" Indoor hydroponic gardens are becoming quite popular both commercially and for the veggie lover at home who wants to grow nutrient-rich organic produce. While a garden may not be utmost in your mind at the moment with our chilly winter temperatures, it's actually a great time to start - indoors!

Tower Gardens are a super way to grow fresh veggies, herbs, and even fruits, and there's no dirt involved. These aeroponic units are also vertical so they don't take up much space, and you can set them up indoors or out - in a sunny corner, on your balcony, or patio. A pump sends water up to nourish the roots, and with no weeding or tilling needed, it's much, much easier than a traditional garden. You'll be amazed at how quickly you'll be able to harvest... and how much! My friend Trina kept families on her cul-de-sac in leafy greens all summer here in Calgary!

You can grow quite a variety of plants in your garden, with the exception of root vegetables such as potatoes or carrots. Strawberries, kale, lettuce, broccoli, peppers, herbs, cucumbers, melons (yep!), tomatoes, Swiss chard, beans, peas... even flowers if you'd like. Have fun experimenting, and you don't need any gardening skills. The unit pays for itself over time in savings on your grocery bill!
